WAXING AFTERCARE
PRE-CARE
- Make sure your hair is at least 1/4th of an inch. The longer the better, our wax experts prefer trimming it themselves. Allow at least 3-4 weeks between waxing and / or shaving.
- Take a Tylenol 30 minutes before your appointment if you’re worried about pain.
- Get a good night’s rest before your appointment. If your not sleeping properly your body is more sensitive to feel the edge from waxing.
- Your skin is often more sensitive to the time near your period, and waxing can be more painful than normal. We highly recommend for you to wait until after right after your cycle to get a wax.
- Shower and lightly exfoliate your entire area to be waxed right before your appointment using warm, not hot water. This helps to soften your hair and relax your pores.
- Don’t use any lotions or oils on the area to be waxed. Do not use peels (glycolic, AHA, etc.) or microdermabrasion on the waxing area up to 24 hours prior to receiving a skin wax, also notify your technician if you are on any medication that may make your skin prone to sensitivity.
AFTER-CARE
FOR THE FIRST 24 HOURS
After a wax, your hair follicles are open for the first 24 hours. It’s important to follow the rules below to prevent any bacteria from getting in your hair follicles, this will ensure the smoothest results possible. It is normal to have a little redness or tenderness after waxing.
- No touching
- No exercise/sweating
- No tanning
- No swimming, steam rooms or saunas
- No sexual contact
UNTIL YOUR NEXT WAX
Shaving
Put down the razor. It may be tempting, but don’t do it. Shaving between waxes can leave you with undesirable results.
Take Care Down There
To keep your skin silky smooth, we recommend a daily regime of exfoliating and moisturizing.
Fend Off Ingrowns
For those prone to ingrown hairs, we recommend exfoliating with our sisal dry bikini brush and using one of our ingrown hair treatments daily.
- Cutebox Exotic Bikini Balm
- Finipil
- PFB Vanish
YOUR NEXT BOOKING
As a consistent waxer, your hair will become noticeably softer, finer, and over time sparser. Book your next wax 5-6 weeks after your appointment for smoothest results. You’re welcome to come in sooner, but due to hair cycles you may be left with unwanted stubble.
