EYELASH FAQ

LASH EXTENSIONS

Synthetic mink, or silk eyelashes that are applied individually using specially formulated, semi-permanent adhesive.

The purpose of the extensions is to create the appearance of longer, thicker eyelashes.

Classic lashes is a 1-to-1 eyelash extension method, meaning that one eyelash is applied to one natural lash only, therefore if you only have 50 suitable natural lashes per eye, then you will only achieve a look of 50 eyelash extensions. This methods are perfect for clients who already have a lot of lashes, but want to add more length.

Shortly said : A simple upgrade to classic to achieve a fuller look. The Hybrid technique is a combination of two different lash application techniques rolled into one set of lashes. Eyelash stylist apply the classic eyelash extensions and then apply pre-made or hand-made lash fans in between the classic lashes. Anyone who love’s an extra dark lash line should go for Hybrid lashes.

The initial application takes between 1-2 hours depending on the technique. Refills take between 45mins 1 hours depending on the technique.

The eyelash extensions will last anywhere from 2-6 weeks.

Some factors such as your lifestyle, facial cleansing routine, skin type and average lash growth cycle and type of makeup products you use can also affect the longevity of the lashes. It is normal to lose 2-5 natural lashes every day so we recommend coming in for refills every 2-3 weeks to maintain the fullness of your eyelash extensions. After 4 weeks, a new set of extensions is usually required as there will be no eyelash extensions remaining for us to refill.

A fill consists of the lash artist going through the lashes to remove grown out extensions and add new extensions.

During your lash fill, your extensions are cleansed and grown out lashes are removed. A single extension is applied to all of the newly grown natural eyelash. Lash fills are essential to maintain your extensions and to keep your lashes looking their best. Must have at least 40%~50% of extensions remaining to be considered a fill. Less than 40%~50%  remaining will require a full new set.

The application process is painless, while your eyes are closed we bond each lash 1mm away from your lash line. Therefore, it should not damage your natural lashes since it is not directly on the skin, allowing your natural lashes to go through its growth cycle, shed and regenerate.

The application of eyelash extensions should not cause pain but you may experience a slight stinging sensation and your eyes may water caused by exposure to the glue fumes. This is mild and should not cause any major discomfort during or after the procedure.

Please do not try to remove eyelash extensions yourself… You will end up pulling out your natural eyelashes if you pick or pull on the extensions. We apply a special gel to the extensions that is made to dissolve the bond of the adhesive. No damage is done to your natural eyelashes.

Although it is rare, it is possible to have an allergic reaction to the gel pads or the adhesive used to apply for the extensions. If you have sensitive skin or eyes, we would recommend booking in for a patch test before getting a full set of extensions. If you had allergies before, it is likely to get allergies again. You should try using sensitive glue. If you have a reaction with sensitive glue, you should avoid eyelash extensions in general.

We do not recommend wearing mascara with eyelash extensions as it can cause the extensions and your natural lashes to clump together. When the glue eventually deteriorates and the extensions fall off, it can pull off your natural lashes as well.

It is fine to wear makeup with eyelash extensions but please ensure that you remove the makeup completely otherwise the buildup of oil and dirt will cause the lash extensions to fall out quicker. If you wear makeup regularly, it is recommended to use a daily lash cleanser along with oil-less makeup remover in order to remove the residue.

Mascara can be time-consuming and does invisible damages over time to our eyelids. Same as mascara, wearing strip lashes is equally damaging. It is done by applying glue directly to the root of our lashes where it contacts skin rather than just on the lashes. When removing strip lashes it is very difficult to avoid pulling on your lashes and skin.

Lash extension is a workaround to these problems. Firstly it does not directly contact our skin. Therefore it does not damage any part of our eyelids.

Yes, it is possible as the adhesive we use is waterproof. Swimming or exercising regularly or exposing the lashes to heat and moisture can cause the extensions to fall out quicker as the strong movements and sweat can break down the glue more quickly.

If you want a dramatic look, go for the extensions while for a natural look, lash lift would be more suitable. Furthermore, if you have short lashes, lash extensions would be the best solution for you.

LASH LIFT

Lash Lift : A lash lift is a lash service that semi-permanently curls natural eyelashes to make your lashes looking curlier. The curly eyelash helps your eyes look bigger, more open and pop nicer. Lash lift is an alternative to lash curler, with the exception that it lasts around 5 weeks for most people.

Lash Tint : As it sounds, lash tint simply tint your lashes to the color of your choice, which most likely is black. If you have a naturally black eyelashes, you can go for black-blue color which looks darker than black. For people with lighter lash colors, lash tint along the lash curl will improves the look of the eyes noticeably.

Keratin LashLift adds protein to the lash hair, strengthening your eyelash hairs to prevent future breakage.
A lash lift isn’t permanent. In general, a lash lift lasts for around 4 to 6 weeks, but this can vary depending on your lashes and the type of lash lift you choose. With proper care, you may be able to extend the life of your lash lift to 6 weeks.
No, lash lifts should not damage your lashes. Even if you end up with a lash lift that goes a little wrong, the effects of the procedure are only semi-permanent. Eyelashes naturally fall out and regrow every 4 to 6 weeks, so you won’t have to worry about damaging your lashes long term.

Your eyelids are washed and wiped down by your lash artist. A gel eye patch is placed on your bottom lashes to separate from your upper lashes and keep them away from the perm lotion. A rubber cylinder is placed on your eyelid. This is the base we’ll use to curl your lashes around. The lash artist will curls the lashes using the glue over the mold, we separate your lashes individually, so you get a nice curl on the lashes, and we would apply the non-toxic perm solution, that sits on the root of the eyelashes, so the solution is not touching your skin. During the solution waiting time, you do need to keep your eyes closed for the entire process. Once the solution is removed, an oil or conditioning solution is often applied to the lashes. We clean up the lashes and remove the rubber cylinder.
It is a really relaxing, non-invasive treatment and most of our clients take the time to catch up on their beauty sleep.

Of course! You’ll just achieve a more dramatic effect when mascara is applied to your curled lashes.

Lash extensions and lash lifts are 2 totally different animals. I will not be adding any additional lashes to you. I will simply be curling your natural lashes. That said, for most, it can make your lashes appear fuller because they are so uplifted.

No. At first, when I’m applying the shields to the eyelids, it may feel a bit strange. But, for the most part, it’s very relaxing! You just kick back and relax.

Most of the time, yes. Though it can be challenging if the lashes aren’t even long enough to bring up and back on to the shield. But I say, give it a shot once and see how you do!
